Why it exists
Most moving scams start the same way: a low quote from a company nobody checked, or a different company showing up on moving day than the one that quoted. The federal records that could warn people are public, but they are spread across several datasets, written in regulators' codes, and hard to read on a phone in the middle of a move.
US MoverLedger puts those records on one page per company, in plain English, for 34,924 household goods movers and brokers.
How it works
- We collect the public record. Every day we check FMCSA's licensing, registration and safety data for every household goods mover and broker. Data sources
- We turn it into facts you can use. Whether the company may legally do your move, what insurance it has on file, how long it has existed, and which other companies share its phone, address or officers.
- We flag what deserves a second look. Signals follow published rules that apply to every company the same way. Methodology
- We add what customers report. Every report is reviewed by a person before a summary appears, and companies can reply.
What we stand for
- Facts, not verdicts. We show what the records say and explain it. We don't call companies scams, and we don't give them scores.
- Every fact has a source. Each one shows where it came from and how current it is.
- No pay to play. Companies can't pay to change their profile, and we don't sell your details. Disclosures
- We fix our mistakes in public. Corrections log
